A Non profit making organisation based in Harare is seeking qualified applicants for a Finance Officer position for its project that is aimed at mitigating the impact of HIV and AIDS on Zimbabwe's children by enhancing the sustainability of care and support services for Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) through a USAID funded OVC program.
Oversee budget analysis with recommendations for senior management Review activity expenditure reports against approved budgets Preparation of monthly reports ensuring availability of resources or in support of project activities Cash management of organisation funds in receipting, banking and disbursement of funds Prepare and participate in donor compliance checks, desk reviews and audits Ensure that cash is kept safe at all times and maintain a cash journal and petty cash account Follow up and assess acquittals from staff on outstanding supporting documentation submitted and any issues arising from submission of acquittal report Oversee tracking of cost-sharing work with Finance Manager to analyze financial position
A degree in Finance or Accounting At least 3 years working experience in a similar position in an NGO Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Accounting software A knowledge in PASTEL is an added advantage Experience in managing USAID grants a strong advantage Fluency in written and spoken English Detail oriented and organized Good judgment Initiative as well as ability to take direction and can work under pressure Clean drivers licence.
